ISLAMABAD - Several banned outfits in Pakistan are appealing to people to donate the hides of animals sacrificed on Eid ul Azha, a media report said.

Interior ministry officials have reportedly received inputs from intelligence agencies that activists of several banned outfits have started touring various cities, towns and villages for collecting hides from sacrificial animals and have even pinpointed sites where collection centres would be set up.

The leaders of the outfits appealed to the people through loud speakers, the reports said, according to the Online news agency Sunday.

The purpose of this collection drive, however, was not disclosed in the report.

This act by the outfits has prompted the ministry to ask the provincial governments to form special police monitoring teams and not allow any such activity.
