Maudany’s jail stay extended till Nov 22

BANGALORE - The jail stay of Peoples Democratic Party head Abdul Nasir Maudany, an accused in the 2008 serial blasts in Bangalore, was Monday extended till Nov 22 by a court here.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi ordered the extension of judicial custody of Maudany, who has been in Bangalore’s main jail since Aug 27.

Maudany was arrested from his Kerala-based camp Aug 17 and was in the custody of Bangalore police for 10 days till Aug 27.

He is one of the 32 accused chargesheeted in the case. A series of eight explosions July 25, 2008 in Bangalore killed a woman and injured 15 people.

The prime accused is suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba activist T. Nasir on whose confession Maudany was arrested and chargesheeted, according to Bangalore police.
