BHUBANESWAR - Four traders were arrested in Orissa’s Sundergarh district Sunday on charges of supplying explosives and other materials to Maoists, police said.

The traders, arrested from Bisra town, are all related to one another. Several gelatin sticks, detonators, fuse wires and other materials were seized from them, Superintendent of Police Diptesh Patnaik told IANS.

In a separate incident, police late Saturday arrested three Maoists from a forested area in Gajapati district, a police officer said.

The rebels were involved in several crimes, including the attack on a police post and blowing of a forest beat house, in Gajapati and its neighbouring Kandhamal district last year.

Three guns and ten pairs of the Maoist rebels’ uniforms were among the items police have seized from them, he said.
