Landmines, detonators recovered from Maoist hideout

RANCHI - Police recovered three claymore landmines, 543 detonators and other material from a Maoist hideout on the outskirts of Ranchi Tuesday, police said.

According to police, three claymore landmines, each weighing 25 kg, 543 double booster detonators, live wires and other “incriminating material” were seized from a Maoist hideout in Bareda jungle, falling under Bundu police station of Ranchi.

The landmines and explosives were seized on a tip-off by a surrendered rebel, police said. In the last three months, Ranchi police have seized more than 20 landmines planted in the jungles of Bundu, Namkom, Silli and other places.
