NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The law enforcement officials said that the former vice president and dean of St. John’s University forced her students to cook, clean and do all the labor works and threatened that they will not be granted scholarship if they deny it. FBI Special Agent Kenneth F. Hosey said in the affidavit that Cecilia Chang threatened her students by saying that if they “refuse” to perform the duties assigned to them by her, they will not be granted scholarship in the college. The FBI Special Agent also said that the students were also threatened that they will not be able to attend college if they do not abide by her instructions.

A reputed media source reported that the students lodged a complain against Cecilia Chang and after investigation the truth was revealed. Cecilia Chang had the authority to grant 15 scholarships to the students and it seems that she took the full advantage of her position. Cecilia Chang not only made the students do all her household scores but also she asked them to deliver money at her casino. The affidavit unsealed by the federal investigators also read that Cecilia Chang was suspended from her job in January.

Defense lawyer Ronald Rubinstein said in his statement that Cecilia Chang was one of the top fundraisers of the university. However, he declined to comment anything to the journalists but only said that he would not give away the “defense”. Cecilia Chang was arrested last Thursday on charges of forced labor and bribery. The prosecutors said that if convicted, she would face a prison sentence of 20 years. The former dean of St. John’s University was arrested last month on charges of grand larceny, forgery and falsifying business records as she reportedly stole more than a million from St. John’s University.
