Police: Neb. hospital shooting suspect alive

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha police say a man who was shot after opening fire at an Omaha hospital and wounding two officers is fighting for his life.

There have been conflicting news reports about whether the shooting suspect died. But Omaha Police Lt. Darci Tierney says the suspect remains in “very critical condition” at Creighton University Medical Center.

Police have not disclosed many details about the Wednesday morning shootout, including the suspect’s identity.

The two officers sustained minor wounds.

The shootings occurred inside the hospital, which is a few blocks north of the city’s downtown.
