Bishop Eddie Long Faces Allegations

ATLANTA (GaeaTimes.com)- Bishop Eddie Long, the Pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta has reportedly been accused of “sexual coercion” by two men, Maurice Murray Robinson and Anthony Flagg who filed a lawsuit against him yesterday. The two men, who are now 20 and 21filed the lawsuit in DeKalb County Court and said that the Bishop has taken advantage of his post to intimidate and compel them to have sexual relationship with him. Maurice Murray Robinson and Anthony Flagg were 17 and 18 years old at that time.

The lawsuit that has been filed in DeKalb County Court reads that Bishop Eddie Long has utilized “spiritual authority to coerce” Maurice Murray Robinson and Anthony Flagg to engage in sexual acts with him for his personal satisfaction. Bishop Eddie Long’s attorney however said that the bishop had denied all the allegations against him. A reputed media source reported that Bishop Eddie Long had taken Anthony Flagg, 21, with him many times on his overnight trips to different cities in United States. The gossip portals also claim that Maurice Murray Robinson accompanied him to Auckland and New Zealand on the former’s 19th birthday and the pastor allegedly intimidated him to indulge in sexual act with him there.

On the other hand Bishop Eddie Long’s representative said that it is “unfortunate” that someone has filed lawsuit against him. The representative, Art Franklin said that their law firms will respond to this charges after the attorneys review the whole lawsuit. Maurice Murray Robinson’s lawsuit also claims that the Bishop’s practices are not known to the congregation, however, Bishop Eddie Long has used the Church’s money to nourish these relationships. The lawsuit also claims that the Bishop used to discuss and justify the “intimate relationship” by using Holy Scriptures.
