18 killed, 98 injured in Iraq attacks

BAGHDAD - At least 18 people were killed and 98 injured in a series of attacks and bombings across Baghdad Sunday, according to Iraqi military sources.

Nine people were killed and 58 injured in a car bombing in the al-Mansour neighbourhood, in the southwest of the capital.

On Aden square in the north of the city, two car bombs killed nine people and injured 36, while a bomb blast in another part of Baghdad injured three people.

A senior Iraqi intelligence officer was seriously injured when an explosive device planted in his car went off in Salhiya district, in central Baghdad.
