Chandigarh Police Busts Kidnap Attempt

CHNADIGARH, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- In a development that has sent shock waves in the media the police in Chandigarh has foiled a kidnapping effort involving two Australian residents. Another person was also arrested with the two Australians in this connection as it has been reported. The arrested trio are Gursher Singh, Grant Alanestein and Simon Galti. Gursher Singh is from Punjab’s Ropar town as the cops have found out. He is 39 while both of the Australians are 44 years old. They were involved in a bid to arrest a young man hailing from Chandigarh. The initial investigation has proved that the threesome were about to extract INR 1 crore from the family of the target. The cops were able to trace their conversation from the cell phone numbers they were using.

The Chandigarh police’s Crime branch personnel found a knife, narcotics, a Gypsy car along with three air pistols from the miscreants. The arrested lot revealed to the cops later that they were aided by three others. They came to Chandigarh with the plan to kidnap a young guy named Harsh Sinha. They said they had known him from their student days. Gursher Singh got in touch with the two Australians when he went to Australia with a student visa. Pradeep Kumar Srivastava the Inspector General of Chandigarh Police told the press about the information.

The Chandigarh Police officials also said that the rogue three had plans to invest the ransom money in narcotics business in near future. The trio has been booked under Narcotics, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act as well as the Arms Act.
