Victim describes chaotic scene at Buffalo shooting

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A man wounded in a hail of gunfire outside a Buffalo restaurant says he watched another victim’s wife try to revive her husband in vain as a panicked crowd scurried for cover.

Tillman Ward told The Associated Press on Monday he believes he was hit by the first two bullets that ripped into the crush of people celebrating Tanisha and Danyell Mackin’s wedding anniversary at the City Grill.

Ward says he watched blood run from his shattered elbow and saw Tanisha Mackin pumping her husband’s chest while begging him not to die.

Mackin and three others were killed. Ward, who’s 27, was one of four people wounded. He was released from the hospital Sunday.

Police appealed again Monday for public help finding the gunman. Another man had been arrested but was later released.
