Madhya Pradesh scales up security ahead of I-Day

BHOPAL - The Madhya Pradesh government Saturday scaled up security across the state with nearly 1,000 additional policemen deployed in capital Bhopal on the eve of Independence Day, officials said.
Security has been heightened throughout the state with policemen deployed for security checks at public places like hotels and lodges, officials at the police headquarters here told IANS.
Police also made some preventive detentions in Bhopal and commercial town Indore. Special security steps have been taken at entry and exit points of these two cities.
The security of the historic Lal Parade ground, where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hoist the tricolour Sunday, was also taken over by police.
Assembly Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani will unfurl the tricolour at his home town Jabalpur. Commerce and Industry Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will unfurl the national flag at Indore.
