PAGO PAGO, AMERICAN SAMOA (GaeaTimes.com)- The American Samoa citizens were startled and shocked to hear that a police officer on his day of duty was shot to dead by a person who attended a relative’s court hearing. The irony of the whole incident was that the police officer Lt. Lusila Brown was present in the court as one of the security officials but in the end, he could not secure his own life. The detective was shot to dead outside the High Court in Pago Pago last Thursday and the reporters and police officials witnessed the frightful sight of the murder.

The journalist’s of American Samoa stated that Siaumau Siaumau Jr. shot long time veteran police officer Lt. Lusila Brown right in front of the sidewalk of the courtroom. The alleged shooter shot the detective several times and the shooter kept screaming at the detective while he was already on the ground. The police cited the reason for the killing as Lt. Lusila Brown was one of the investigators of the several cases which involved the alleged killer’s family. The accused through this gory affair avenged the punishment of his family member.

American Samoa’s police officer was unarmed as the law of the city restricts police officers to carry a gun. The Police Commissioner Tuaolo M. Fruean said the shooting is a prime example of why the police officers should be armed. American Samoa’s Governor has issued a statement that police is investigating the matter and would do everything to ensure that the person responsible for this act is punished and the victim’s family gets the justice.
