THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - Police Monday raided a building owned by a mosque in Kerala’s Kannur district and found country bombs, knives and an axe besides leaflets of the Popular Front, a radical Muslim organization, the authorities said.

The building raided by Kerala Police is in Edakad in Kannur.

Answering queries about any proposal to ban the Popular Front, which has attracted criticism for its fundamentalists approach, union Minister of State for Home Mulapally Ramachandran told reporters that the request to ban the group has to come form the state government.
