RANCHI - Maoist guerrillas killed two people in Jharkhand’s Simdega district Saturday, police said.
Rebels belonging to Maoist organisation People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) gunned down Gopal Sahu and Govind near Mahaboyang market in Simdega district, about 110 km from Ranchi.
According to the police, five PLFI ultras arrived on two motorcycles and gunned down Gopal when he was in his shop. His employee Govind was also killed in the firing.
Gopal was a relative of Tileshwar Sahu, former chairman of the Jharkhand Pollution Control Board.
Some members of the PLFI, which is active in eight districts of Jharkhand, had a land dispute with Gopal Sahu which is said to be the cause of the killings.
