BAGHDAD - At least two US soldiers and three Iraqi policemen were killed in a car bomb explosion Friday in Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala, a local police source said.
Among the 24 injured were two US soldiers and four Iraqi police officers, a Diyala provincial police source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
A suicide bomber rammed his car into an Iraq and US joint patrol in Jalwlaa town, 90 km northeast of Baquba, the capital of Diyala province, the report said.
Earlier, the source said that the explosion left three people killed and 15 wounded.
Also Friday, a roadside bomb explosion in a market in the Dora neighborhood in Baghdad killed two people and injured nine.
Sporadic attacks and waves of violence continue across Iraq three months after the country held its landmark parliamentary election on March seven.
