Phoenix police say officer shot, killed

PHOENIX — Police say an officer has been shot and killed at a gas station convenience store in west Phoenix.

Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump said Wednesday morning the officer died at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The shooting occurred at 19th Avenue near Indian School Road.

Other details of the shooting are unknown. Detectives are investigating. Traffic is restricted on 19th Avenue.
