Suspect in death of Miss. supremacist denied bond

BRANDON, Miss. — A 22-year-old man accused of stabbing an outspoken white supremacist to death in Mississippi has been denied bond.

Vincent McGee appeared in Rankin County Court on Tuesday in a bulletproof vest and shackles. He made no comment to the court.

Judge Kent McDaniel set McGee’s arraignment for May 4, and McGee could enter a plea then.

McGee is charged with murder in the death of Richard Barrett.

Barrett’s body was found last Thursday at his home outside Pearl. Authorities say the 67-year-old had been stabbed, beaten and burned.

Police have not said why they think Barrett was killed. McGee lived near Barrett and was released from prison earlier this year.
