Dallas cabbie fatally shot, 2 hurt; gunman sought

DALLAS — Police are searching for a gunman who fired into a taxi in Dallas, killing the taxi driver and wounding two passengers.

Police say the shooting occurred around 5 a.m. Monday and followed an argument at a nightclub. They say the gunman fired from another vehicle.

Police were investigating reports that the two wounded passengers dumped the cabbie along a service road, then drove his taxi to a hospital so they could be treated. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office says the taxi driver was killed.

Police were examining the cab, which they found abandoned outside a hospital.

A police spokeswoman did not immediately provide further details.
