Two Dutch soldiers killed in Afghanistan

THE HAGUE - Two Dutch soldiers have been killed by insurgents in Uruzgan province in southern Afghanistan, the Netherlands Defence Ministry said late Saturday in The Hague.

One soldier was severely wounded in the deadly attack using explosives.

The slain troops were aged 23 and 29.

The latest deaths bring Dutch military casualties in the Afghan conflict to 23 dead. The Netherlands has a force in Afghanistan of about 2,000 troops, who are due to be withdrawn starting in August through the end of 2010.
