Ohio teen accused of roadside rape faces 20 years

TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio teenager accused of raping a woman along a street in broad daylight faces up to 20 years in prison if he’s convicted on all charges.

A grand jury in Toledo indicted 15-year-old Anferney Fontenet (FAHN’-teh-neht) on Thursday on charges of rape and aggravated robbery.

Prosecutors initially charged him as a juvenile, but a judge moved his case into an adult court.

The teen’s attorney has said that Fontenet suffered a head injury in a car accident when he was younger and that he has been diagnosed with an impulse-control disorder.

Police say the teen told detectives he walked up behind a woman, grabbed her neck and raped her in January but didn’t know why.
