House Republican anxious to hear Toyoda testimony

WASHINGTON — A House Republican says lawmakers expect to hear Toyota’s chief executive officer explain what he’s learned from safety problems that forced the automaker to recall over 8 million vehicles. Rep. Darrell Issa (ICE’-uh) said in a nationally broadcast interview that he wants to see if CEO Akio Toyoda is ready to live up to the promise of reform that his company is selling in its latest TV commercials.
