Three Maoists arrested in Jharkhand

RANCHI - Three Maoist guerrillas, wanted for murder and other serious offences, were arrested in Jharkhand Monday, police said.

Pawan Gope, commander of Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was arrested from Tupudana situated on outskirts of Ranchi. Two more PLFI rebels were arrested from Bhonda village of Khuti district, around 45 km from Ranchi, according to police.

The three faced charges in cases of murder and extortion.

A pistol, live cartridges and incriminating documents were seized from them, police added.
