KOLKATA - Several Maoist posters demanding the release of their leaders and urging the people to protest against corruption were Sunday found pasted on the walls in a bustling south Kolkata area, police said.

“The posters were mainly found in the Bhowanipore and Maidan areas,” a police officer said here.

A Maoist poster demanding the release of recently arrested state secretary Sudip Chongdar alias Kanchan and other leaders was pasted on the walls of Jatin Das Park Metro station in Bhowanipore.

Two posters were found on the main gates of the Academy of Fine Arts building and Nandan cultural complex.

The posters asked the people to protest against scams in the Commonwealth Games and 2G spectrum allocation.
