PATNA - Suspected Maoists Thursday torched two campaign vehicles in Bihar’s Gaya district, police said.

According to the police, Maoists set afire the campaign vehicle of Anil Kumar, a Janata Dal-United candidate from Tekari assembly seat.

In another incident, the rebels set ablaze the campaign vehicle of Rajendra Singh, an independent candidate from Gurua assembly seat.

Tekari and Gurua are two of the 26 seats that will go to polls Nov 20 in the sixth and final phase of Bihar assembly elections. Police recovered leaflets and posters from the incident site asking people to boycott the polls.

Maoists had Wednesday night torched a makeshift party office of Rashtriya Janata Dal at Mathurapur in Gaya.
