Six killed in separate attacks in Iraq

MOSUL - Six people were killed and 12 injured Monday in a series of attacks in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul, security sources said.

Three civilians were killed and six injured by a bomb blast targeting a police patrol in the district of Hay el Ba’ath.

An elderly man was killed and his daughter was injured by a roadside bomb near their home in southern Mosul.

One policeman was killed and five were injured by a hand grenade hurled at a police checkpoint in the neighbourhood of al-Karamah.

In a separate incident in Mosul, a high-ranking police officer, Khaled Awda, was killed by a bomb planted in his car, security sources said.
